The Clay Assessment System (CAS) is designed to provide a direct link between the performance evaluation and professional development as a system of support aimed at continuous improvement.

The CAS is aligned with the requirements outlined in the amended section 1012.34, Florida Statute, and Rules 6B-4.010 and 6A.5.065, F.A.C. This plan provides for the following:

1. Focus on Florida Educator Accomplished Practices

2. Practices strongly linked primarily to increased student achievement

3. Contemporary research on effective practices

4. Ongoing collaboration and learning among teachers and school leaders
